Ever since the Apple iPad was officially released and people flocked to the stores to pick up the device, many have wondered if Bluetooth tethering on iPad was possible to do via the iPhone.
As it turns out, this feature is not yet available but there has been a lot of talk that it could be a feature that will be coming to the iPad soon. It’s a known fact that many people long to have Bluetooth tethering on the iPad but Apple hasn’t said much about when an update could become present for current owners of the device to obtain this feature.
For those of you who don’t know what Bluetooth tethering is, Google defines it this way:
Tethering is the use of a mobile device such as a mobile phone to supply Internet access for another device which is otherwise unconnected, using the mobile device as a modem. This can be done through Bluetooth wireless technology or cables (such as USB) – Google
This would be a useful feature because those who already own and have service on an existing iPhone wouldn’t have to pay for additional service to use their Apple iPad. Thus allowing owners to save money and still be able to access the 3G features of the iPad.
Not to mention this would also allow smooth, easy transfer of files including videos, pictures, messages and more to and from both devices. It’d make even simple tasks such as moving books for iPad over to another device as well. But, as mentioned, this feature isn’t ready just yet. Hopefully soon.
